Class Descriptions

Beginner Yoga

This class is great for beginners and anyone who is interested in reviewing the essential elements of a yoga practice.  We guide  with the foundation of philosophy, focus on the shapes of the postures, principles of alignment, utilizing the breath, lines of energy, and the language of the practice.  No experience needed, open to ALL

Hip Openers

Yoga can be helpful to relieve tension and improve hip mobility, flexibility and stability.  This practice can also improve lower back pain, balance, posture and prevent injuries in later life.  While most yoga poses involve the muscles around the hips and pelvis in some way, hip openers are a specific group of asanas (postures) whose main anatomical function is to maintain and develop a healthy range of motion in the hips.  This offering may vary: vinyasa, therapeutic, somatic and restorative.

Let your guide know if you need to address anything specific so they can weave tools into the class.

Restorative Yoga

During a Restorative yoga practice, you're encouraged to relax fully, with the aid of the props & guided instruction, so that you can release tension and focus on the breath. This helps to activate the parasympathetic nervous system (responsible for the rest / digest process), which helps combat that feeling of ‘overdrive’ that we often find ourselves in.  When the body and mind becomes softer, you can create the space for new awareness; to get in touch with your natural qualities of compassion and understanding of others and self.

Vinyasa (Flow)

A Vinyasa yoga practice connects individual poses (asanas) with controlled breath (pranayama) in a series of flowing sequences of movement.  The term Vinyasa is derived from nyasa, meaning “to place,” and vi, meaning “in a special way.”  This indicates that we are not “throwing our bodies around” but are bringing consciousness to each movement in each moment.  Learning to flow with life, if you will.  This practice can increase flexibility, strength and stability as well as improve mental focus and attitude.  We are always flowing and yoking, exploring presence in the mind while witnessing what else arises.  Arrive, just as you are, and practice: Steadiness (Sthira), Comfort (Sukha), with presence of breath and awareness in the NOW.  We'll see YOU on the mat!

Power Vinyasa

Power Vinyasa is a fast-paced style of yoga. You will move your body in sync with your breath while also focusing on building strength, endurance, and flexibility. This class will include seated, standing, twist, balance, and inversion postures. Additionally, you can expect pranayama and mindfulness exercises.

All Levels Yoga

This class is a slow to moderately paced practice, incorporating yoga philosophy, fluid movement, alignment and breath. Whether this is your first yoga class or you are an experienced practitioner wanting to focus on foundations this class will uplift you on and off the mat, bringing peace and balance to the rest of your day.

Candlelight Yoga

Candlelight Yoga is an all-levels, evening yoga class in a completely dimmed room with candlelight throughout, to create a calm and relaxing start to your week.  Be prepared for some movement, breath work and meditation/rest.  A balanced experience for your body and mind!

Stretch & Strengthen

Using combination of yoga wall ropes and resistance bands, this class is about structure and strength.  Focus on correct alignment to get the most benefit out of your workout!

Gentle Yoga

Gentle yoga might not be as physically demanding, but it offers all the transformative benefits that people look for.  Like other styles of yoga, gentle yoga relieves stress, increases flexibility, calms the mind, and strengthens the body. Gentle yoga, in particular, can be relaxing and help enhance range of motion. And, of course, a big benefit is that it’s accessible to people.  The movement is slow and mindful so you're caring  for the joints, muscles, and connective tissue.  A great practice for those recovering from injury, wanting to improve proprioception, or manage arthritis and/or neuropathy.  Open to EVERYONE.  (let your guide know if you prefer to have a chair during practice)

Yoga Wall

Yoga Wall is a unique tool, using nylon straps that connect to different points on the wall, allowing you to feel supported and recognize the proper muscles to engage while feeling traction and relaxation in other areas.  The use of the straps, combined with gravity, invites you to experience a different relationship with gravity and perception.  This allows students to experience near-weightlessness as they explore postures in totally new ways.

Here are some of the benefits:
• Allows standing postures, forward and back bends, twists and inversions.
• Can help improve overall flexibility and mobility in the joints and spine
• Builds strength in both the large muscle groups and the core.
• Creates ease in facilitating proper alignment for optimal spinal stability
• Aides in the ability to access various muscle groups in poses they are not yet able to achieve on the mat without support.
• Allows for safe progression of postures from the wall to yoga mat dissolving fear and building confidence.
• Reduces or eliminates back pain.
• Provides gentle spinal traction.
• Increases body awareness.
• Improves circulation and lymphatic flushing.
• Connects back to your inner child facilitating playfulness.

Gong Bath & Sound Sessions - (Sonic Sound Massage can be private or group offering and includes placing Tibetan Bowls on the body as well as surrounding you in sound)

Gong Baths are an ancient, multi-dimensional form of sound healing meditation; a type of inactive meditation, where you “bathe” in the healing vibrations of sound.  During a gong bath, participants typically lie down and get comfortable with blankets and pillows.  “Gong baths offer a psycho-acoustic gateway to heightened states of awareness and consciousness. It’s an amazing healing tool because the frequencies surpass the intellectual part of the brain and travel to the core of the cellular system where the healing qualities are fully absorbed,” says Hochkeppel (Healthline)

Journeyers who participate in these sacred sound healing meditations often receive (and manifest) experiences that oscillate between the intensely introspective and the extremely cosmic, often fusing into some combination of the two while helping to restore your natural rhythms.

A Gong Bath begins with participants laying down with their heads closest to the gongs, allowing the vibrations of the gongs to wash over them the crown to the root. This allows energy to be discharged from the fingers and toes. Participants are encouraged to lay in complete stillness to allow the vibrations the opportunity to move  and restore stagnant energies.  Let your guide know if you prefer a chair.  Open to ALL.

Benefits include: Boost immune system, Decrease tension & fatigue, Improve sleep, Increase brain function, Reduce stress and anxiety, Enhances mood and feelings of well-being, Elevates integration.

Kirtan

Singing is inherent within everyone who has the ability to make sound – no matter whether it’s tuneful or not!  Your voice allows expression to flow, and emotion to be released, which is perhaps why we need this aspect of yoga now more than ever in the modern day world.  Singing together is a powerful tool for shifting collective energy for all.

The various chants sung together or mantras, could be thought of as ‘medicine for the soul’, as the word mantra is made up of two halves; 'man', the root of manas, meaning ‘mind’, and 'tra', meaning vehicle or instrument, referring to a chant’s ability to transport the mind from one state to another. When we chant in a group, music’s ability to bring people together allows the energy of the whole room to be transported to another level.

Kirtan is more about the intention and feeling of making sound, experiencing the effects that ripple out from there. Kirtan doesn’t have to sound harmonious, and you do not have to be a musician or need any prior experience to enjoy the bliss!

The word kirtan, means ‘sharing, narrating, praise' and is all about community. A coming together of people, the chants are usually sung in call-and-response style and derive from Bhakti Yoga, referring to devotion and love.  The word “kirtan” comes from Sanskrit and specifically refers to the practice of singing mantras. Kirtan is pronounced KEER-tun. There are no particular beliefs required.  The process of singing vibrates every cell of each person participating. That sound joins with sound that has been vibrating in every cell of everyone else present. The sounds merge together completely, passing through everyone equally. Chanting together synchronizes breath and heartbeat.

Filling oneself with sacred sound creates a oneness with life and energy and source. This can be profoundly moving. The experience of merging with something more powerful than yourself and with the others in the group is an experience that is both spiritual and tribal.

We're excited for you to share YOUR voice and participate in raising the vibrations.

Guided Plant Medicine Journey

Our main goal is education and safety.  You may have heard of microdosing, taking a very small amount on a schedule, to help ease anxiety, depression, assist with creativity and productivity.  It's a great way to lift the fog and start the journey back to Self, using nature, reconnecting to nature and shifting your neuropathways with conscious awareness.  Neuroplasticity is a state in which the brain is flexible and receptive to new types of learning and re-training.

We also offer larger dosing experiences, held in a safe setting.  We address the Psychedelic experience through the lens of yoga. With gentle movement, breath work, meditation, sound, and the 6 S’s, we can facilitate an experience that can help someone in their journey to return to wholeness.  Let the medicine open the door, the rest of the work is up to YOU.  We understand this is not something everyone will want to explore, and that's absolutely ok.  It's yet another way to become curious on the journey to Self.  Learn more
